The long sandy beach of Ammoudara stretches west of the city of Heraklion and features all the facilities and comforts of a coastal tourist settlement (hotels, restaurants, beach bars, ect).
The beach of Ammoudara is organized in most parts but there are also some more isolated spots, while the beach concludes at the small wetland of Almyros Potamos.
